Foods that help prevent Cancer
Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person’s life time. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours. When a person has cance,r it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
Cancer is a deadly disease that does not discriminate based on a person’s age, sex, ethnicity or social status. Though anyone can get cancer, the National Institute (US) on aging, notes that a person’s risk of getting cancer increases with age even if that person has no family history of cancer. That reality highlights the importance of routine screenings for adults age 50 and older. Older people can take certain measures to possibly prevent the onset of cancer. The following foods may possibly lower the risk.
Tomatoes are loaded with lycopene, a carotenoid that numerous studies have indicated can reduce the incidence of cancer, cardiovascular disease and macular degeneration. Cooked tomatoes can improve the body’s ability to absorb lycopene, further enhancing its ability to protect the body against cancer.
Blueberries may help prevent the onset of neck and mouth cancers. That is because blueberries are rich in antioxidants, which the American Institute for cancer Research notes can protect cells from being damaged.
Whole grains help men and women control weight, as they are lower in calories than other traditional options. Studies have shown that whole grains, found in whole-grain and whole wheat pastas, can also reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Fatty Fish including salmon, that is full of omega-3 fatty acids, has been linked to a host of medical benefits, including lowering a person’s risk of cancer and heart disease.

Good fats in evening primrose oil, help energize the immune system to destroy 50 percent of suspicious pancreatic cells, research shows. A new Mayo Clinic study suggests these fats inhibit the abnormal cells that remain, preventing them from growing out of control.
Cocoa is packed with protective plant compounds called polyphenols. Polyphenols shut down the inflammation that can damage pancreatic cells. Sip 12 ounces of chocolate milk made with pure cocoa powder daily. Polyphenol rich green tea could also be a substitute.
Some studies have found that both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee can lower a person’s risk of developing colon, endometrial and prostrate cancer.
