ChandraMukhi Ganju Back To Author List

Lawyer by profession, Mrs Ganju moved to the States in year 1993, as a result of migration in Kashmir due to terrorism in valley. She feels deeply Kashmiri Hindus are losing their culture, language and cuisine.

Since she spent a good part of her life in Kashmir, she feels food is a strong link to keep culture alive.

So she first made a website under the name http://koshursaal.com. She got lots of appreciation. This urged her to write an authentic cook book (presently under the process of publication) with special emphasis to give cultural and religious significance of foods we eat.

She believes that it is the method of cooking that adds to the quality of the food. For her cooking is an art and feels the need to create a right atmosphere. Good vibrations are needed to pass into the food while cooking. This goes a long way in ensuring a healthy, happy and genuinely spiritual family.

Her videos on recipes appear almost every month in Shehjar. She has also written plays in Kashmiri language, with a view to revive the interest of the young and the old in the rich Kashmiri heritage.

She hopes, her work will revive the taste buds of younger generation and introduce Kashmiri cuisine to wider cross section of people.
